I earned my undergrad degree in Health and Physical Education at WSU. I didn't enter the teaching field after my undergrad for two reason, one I didn't find a job and second I fell in love with my office job at Dick's Sporting Goods. When the economy changed my job was down graded to part-time so I decided to go back to school for an Intervention Specialist degree (mild to moderate) with a reading endorsement. I will be finishing my masters in the Fall of this year.
Last year I worked as a Title I Reading Instructor at Richard Allen Schools (7-9 grade). This was a great experience for me because I was able to try some of the new idea and strategies I learned throughout my program. This year I will be starting a new career as a 3-4 grade Intervention Specialist at Mississinawa Valley in Darke County. I am excited to begin a new adventure.
I will be focusing on students at the 3rd and 4th grade level. The author I researched was Jennifer Jacoboson. I like a lot of her ideas and will use her as well as others in the field to complete the lessons for this blog.
